Star Racing header ?

Does anyone know if you have to rake the frame on the KZ1000 to run a Star header?

Mikuni rs34's
k410 cams
back cut tranny
8" over D&G swinger

Not on the street header but I believe you need to if you run the spyder pipe.

1980 LTD (changed over the years), 1979 LTD (being rebuilt), 1977 KZ turbo and various KZ's in various states of build. KLX110

not on mine. open mega very loud,made baffle not to wake the world going to work at 5:30 am. helped midrange.

i thought on v&h,yhey had interfearance prob. with front fender. i like my long fenger. clears no prob.

I have the vance and hines pro pipe on my bike and don't have any clearance issues.

1977 KZ1000A With 1980 KZ1000A MKII engine, Wiseco 1105 kit, Dyna S Ignition, 3 Ohm Dyna Coils, Cams, Mikuni RS34 Carbs, Vance and Hines Pro Pipe with Comp Baffle

Which V&H pipe you talking about? The standard sidewinder, the PCO pipe or the Gold Label "spaghetti" pipe? That's the standard street header on the above bike not the Spyder pipe.

It looks like a standard sidewinder to me. What was nice about the Star header is that the individual header tubes came out alone so you could replace each tube if needed while most everyone else the whole header assembly was one piece. One thing I liked about the Star header.

Thanks racer, so my next? is can I use my stock brake pedal and pegs with this header like enaz did or do I have to do some fab work?
