!@#$ I need new cases.

So I'm putting my motor back together this fine evening, get everything in the top half, put my three bond on the case, drop it over the studs, everything is fitting nice. Had a really small gap between the cases, tapped it down with a rubber mallet like it says to in the manual, torqued all the bolts starting with the crank first, flipped it over to put the upper case bolts in, start working around the starter and this opens up. So, who's got a set of cases that I can use for my '78 that are in good shape?

onward though...just have to comb the auctions..cases are everywhere on the fleabay imo....

might do better buying a junk kz or a engine..

scan craigslist and post a wanted add in your local craigslist.....

got anything good kz wise to trade?...might lure a lurker that has cases...good luck

I agree. It seems like cases are an easy score compared to heads and cylinders at least.

Craig, I have a junk set of cases I can get rid of. I know they are all over flea bay I just don't want to end up with the same thing again. It never made a noise so I think this crack was there when I tore it down or the cases got dropped at the blasters. The crack goes from the rear starter bolt down to the bearing on the back of the input shaft. I can see the locating pin in the bearing so I didn't miss it just broke.

only cases i have apart right now are 2 sets of z1 cases,but i have frames that are close to both of them in #s im saving to build.
maybe try oldkawmans website to see what hes got
