Mark II heads? was created by testarossa
What's up with all the Mark II cylinder heads on ebay? I just started looking around for a builder head for my bike. I started watching ebay this week and I seems like there are more Mark II heads for sale than regular pre 79 heads. Is there any difference in the casting? Can a Mark II head be used on any 903/1015 motor? Did everyone just part out their Mark II or are all these heads from shafties?

most of the auctions show the other parts the seller has for sale, and a lot of times the other parts are off shaft bikes,so i think most of the heads now listed are shaft bike heads...does it matter...no...imo

The Mark II head has a different valve cover as well, doesn't it? If I were going that route, then I would need to get the cover with the head. Am I thinking correctly here?

That's a good point about looking at the other auctions to get a better sense of what they are parting out. I guess that Mark II sounds a lot more sexy that saying the parts are for a shaftie.

Cool. Thanks for all the info gentlemen. It always helps to widen your net when searching ebay for parts. I'm just trying to get prepared for phase two of the Testarossa Streetfighter. MORE POWER!
