kz750f clutch issue was created by dms_photo
I went to install a new clutch cable today and ran into a problem. Where the little knob on the end of the cable attaches to the clutch, there is an arm that pivots. When the handle is pulled it pulls this piece towards the front of the bike. The problem is, this arm has no springiness to it, so it doesn't return towards the back of the bike. It is just able to be moved freely, and i'm assuming this piece should have a spring of some sort that creates tension. Am i missing something?

The clutch release spring 92081A 92081-1486 (the cable return spring) is available from Kawasaki dealerships.

Would closely monitor the dealer's parts order because it's easy to confuse the needed part with similarly numbered part 92081-1176 CLUTCH SPRING, also available.

I attempted to order one through my dealer and they said it was disconued. They may just be dumb though.

I ended up pulling one from a bike at the local junk yard.

I have my original that I could send u. It's a little bent, but may still work when installed.

If it doesn't work I could look for one at the junk yard for u next time I'm there. Assuming u can't find one of course.

Patton- Thanks for the info. I just ordered the right spring. It was only $3.88.

Treitz- It's not discontinued apparently. Thank you for the offer. I really appreciate it.

Well, I found out what the problem was, and it wasn't the spring. The previous owner took the lever off when removing the old clutch cable, and then put it on wrong. it just had to be removed and then put back on turned about 45 degrees clockwise. I hope that makes sense.

Anyway, I took it for the first ride today even though it was aboout 30 degrees outside. Thanks for the help guys.
