does anybody know of any online articles about rebuilding a 900? or any articles that show maybe putting in a newer engine or a 1000? any recomendations from people who have done this?

Somebody did a good job of documenting a 650 rebuild. I can't imagine a 900 would be much different. As far as putting a 1000cc engine in a 900 frame, the engines are pretty much the same 73-80 so a later 1000 engine will have the same motor mounts and countershaft offset so you can just bolt a 1000cc in.

but would a 1000 engine be as good, i know that later years of cars had less power do to smog heads etc, is it the same for bikes? btw, i have a 73 z1 for sale or trade for parts for my kz.

where are u localed? and how much?

i have sum parts..from a kz1000.. head(ported), block, 1200 high comp pistons. and sumother stuff.. let me know!

i am in bradford pennsylvania, tell me what else the 1000 would need to run, and is it bored to the correct diameter, and the pistons, does that mean displacement or is that a model number?

o no its just parts i have that i was going to use on my 900 but got other parts to use.. i do have a kz1000/900 drag frame also.

If you come up with an engineering analysis for the original frame. i.e. find it somewhere or do it yourself. please submit a copy to the kzrider site. A before and after would be nice.

buy a kawasaki shop manual,if you cant find one let me know ive got an extra thats an actual shop manual,not a chiltons you can use as long as it finds its way to me!wireguy1@aol.com
