on the end of the crankshaft, fits into the slot on the advance unit, anyone know any tricks to getting out ???/ case hardened so drilling isnt an option, I dont think, not enough to grab to, trying a fairly strong magnet now but ???? I'm looking for ideas

there should be laws allowing for unpunished execution of PO's

I think you're talking about a woodruff key. If so just take a punch, lay it down parallel to the crank on the end of the "key", and start tapping it. It's round on the bottom and should rotate out of the groove it's in.

Mine was the same way when I removed it to lube the advancer, but the one in my 82 kz1000m2 was a roll pin. I screwed a small sheet metal screw into the hole and pulled it out. It doesn't hold anything, just locates the advancer so if you can position the advance and torque the bolt it will stay there. If you can't work it loose and pull it you will have to drill it.

well I guess I'm gonna just go with it, I can line it up, there is just enough sticking up that I can just feel it, my big ass magnet didnt work and I can always double check to see if its TDC through the plug hole
