Exhaust questions

ok im looking for a 4 to 4 exhaust for my 82 kz 550 ltd i found a set on ebay for a kz 750 do you think they will work. If not where is a good place to find a set i have been looking online for 3 weeks because here before long im gonna start trying to fix mine up and i would like the look of the 4-4 better tyhan the stock 4-2

You've been looking for three weeks? Sometimes with these old bikes, if there's something you really want or need, you have to search for months and months.

You found a 4-intio-4 exhaust system for a KZ750? Can you post a link or at least a photo? Although my knowledge is limited, the only bike I'm aware of with a 4-4 is the Z1.

For a direct fitment to the exhaust ports, I believe you'll have to get something from a 550. Most (all?) of them are 4-into-2. I guess there might be a 4-1 on a GPz.

Do you mean a 4into4 like on a Z1? Unfortunately, the array of exhausts available for a 550 is fairly limited. You must use an exhaust specifically for a 550...the cylinder spacing is unique...I'm not aware of a 550 4into4 ever being made (but I've been wrong before)...but I have seen 4into2 and 4into1...just like JMKZHI stated.

If you measure the dimensions you require, then you could probly find a pipe for something else and bend/manipulate it into something you can use.

An origional 550 Exhaust can be cleaned up and rechromed just fine as well.

4 into 4 = Lots of bottem end torque, good mid range.
4 into 2 = Good low end torque, lots of mid, some high.
4 into 1 = OK low end torque, good mid range, lots of high end power.

Depends on what you want.
