so which part dont you agree with dr demento?install some heavy clutch springs on your bike and let us know how your left hand feels after 2 weeks of daily riding! :woohoo:

I'm glad this topic came up. I sort of wondered the same thing since I stuck a set of the APE springs in my '74 that I'm working on. It has 1015 10.5 to 1 pistons but stock cams. Head is an old Flo-Max Finks Racing head. I put the springs on with the intention of maybe adding .385 or .395 cams later on. Not interested in anything radical. But I wondered how much more stress it would add to the cam chain, valve seats, etc. Sounds like maybe no big deal. I don't have the bike on the road yet.

id say your situation is a little differant being that its allready hotrodded other than needing a set of warmer cams to finish it off,versus a basically internally stock motor.
id reccomend the heavier springs in your case because of the way the motor is built B)
