Woodruff keys are half moon shaped pieces of metal with a matching slot milled in crank shafts.

To remove it, get a hammer and a pin punch the same diameter as the woodruff key. Tap on the very end of the sheared key and it should pop out of the crank shaft.

Make sure the new key is a snug fit with no metal residue from the old one.
