Broken cam chain guide damaged cylinder. Fix? was created by tybolt99

I checked compressions and decided to do top end rebuilt on Z1B. Cam chain guide was broken and bottom end of what's left damaged the bottom of the cylinder where it sit. How should I fix it? Any suggestion?

No expert, but the guide seat will probably have to be welded up and re-machined? Not sure about the piston.

Schnitz Racing has the cam drive parts. See how a new one fits. don't look tooo bad. Loose cam chains are hard on all that stuff.

Thank you guys.
I will go to talk to my friend who restores brits to see he can help me. As in the first picture, right side in the pic is grinded some. Must have been running for while with broken chain guide.
I will have to check to see what parts I have to change for whole thing. $350 bike will be who knows how much! :unsure:

had a similar issue when doing the last rebuild.
JB Weld with soda can as a form held with duct tape.
just machine the excess flush when cured.
No leaks since.
Make sure you have your JB Weld Certification.

I got a Z1 cylinder block (903) I could let go, in good shape, let me know !!!! and it still had the guide in it

I have a good cylinder off a 74 engine. Bores are clean and within spec.

I have been talking to friend who works on brit bikes. He is really good mechanic/fabricator. I think we can come up with something.
