GPZ 550 cam alignment

I am finally assembling but even after reading the manual I am confused. I says count 42 pins back to the mark on the intake cam. I am at the intake cam in 23 pins.

Anybody?

The manuals are a little vague.

Thanks , fired that thing up today. Guess I got the cams right. Ran good but still needs carbs rebuilt and sync'd.
