front sprocket gear noise. was created by kz1k
i just put my output sprocket gear only in my case. i made sure the ring and hole were seated in the case properly and the case seam was flush. when i roll my sprocket fast by hand i hear a rolling noise in the case. is this normal? maybe its just the ball bearings?

not right.
did you ever have this bike running down the road?
a chain that is too tight will wipe the bearing out quicker then shit.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

bike was given to me in parts through craigslist. probably the most exspensive phone call i have made in my life...lol. when i spin the sprocket i watch it slow down and look for an abrupt stop, but it seems to spin well until it comes to a slow roll then stop. its hard to explain. sounds like someone dragging a tool in a hard wood floor if you catch my drift. even though it spins with no drag. i may be over thinking, but i figured i should ask. i noticed barely anyone has replied to this thread making me think i am over thinking this. thanks Joe

If you haven't already bought a new bearing for your output shaft, I would buy one and replace it at least. Cheap at this point of your build, actually any time, the expense is the time to pull it down. You're there now so new bearings sounds like the correct method to me.

If the output bearing is bad it can lock up and kill you. Motion Industries formerly Berry Bearing might have a website maybe not.

Impact the sprocket nut off an it should slide or tap right off.
