Corey Clough is trying to get block off plates made for the 550's. I was curious if anyone knows whether the 650/750 plates are the same size/bolt-pattern.

Here's a little drawing of one of the 550 plates.

Thanks Rainman.

That's a shame. So close, too, but no go.

We took care of Corry. He sent us a cam cover, and we made the covers. We will have them available for the other 550 guys by next week.

Update:

KZ550's break down to two basic valve cover types. The KZ550 A1-A3, C, and D use the first generation motor and valve cover design. The KZ550 A4, H, M and F use the later type. The ZX550 uses a valve cover that is like the later KZ type, but the internal reed assembly is different.

The KZ550 valve covers and the ZX550 valve covers use a different method of sealing the plates to the valve cover. The KZ's (at least the A, C, D, H, M and F) use reed cages with integral rubber seals (part 12021-1003 on the diagram). The ZX uses a series of gaskets. I believe the only gasket needed for a block-off plate on the ZX is the 11009B (11060-1064).

The KZD and KZH plate pattern is the same at the mating surface, and the KZH and ZXA share the same plate part number, so all plates should basically be interchangeable. The only difference is the sealing method.

Most likely, all motors could get rid of the reed cages and just use the 11009B (11060-1064) gasket, however the rubber on the reed cages 12021-1008 may seal better since it is more "squishy" :) .
