If not already done, would check crankcase oil level.

Reported issue likely doesn't relate to the ignition.

Good Fortune! :)

Since Patton is a Mod now, I probably don't need to pipe in, but I agree. When I first had my Kz I overfilled it and had similar issues with a oil air box. I got a lecture from the Kawasaki dealership owner when I took the bike in....

I check the oil level and it is low.

We're talking about a valve cover, not head gasket, or base gasket correct? Those are a whole other story and only have one cure, heh.

If so, is there any chance crank vent hose got pinched, or plugged somehow? Since it's not being caused by overfill of oil. Overpressure seems the culprit, unless seal wasn't done properly.

If it is the head or base gasket that explains your oil loss.

Am thinking reported issue regards oil spitting from the crank case vent.

Would next sniff-test the crankcase oil for any gasoline odor. And examine physical condition of the oil.

This is to determine or rule out possible dilution of the oil by fuel contamination, which might cause excessive emission from the crankcase breather.

The next suspect could be blow-by from piston/ring/cylinder wear (where a leak-down test would be helpful).

Thanks for the progress reports.

Good Fortune! :)
