I am currently running a Wiseco 1105 kit that was installed by the previous owner with unknown cams. He stated that they weren't stock but didn't have any information on them. There has been some port work on the head. But to what extent is another unknown. My issue is that when ever I take a long ride in hot weather or get caught in traffic it runs hot. I am planning on rebuilding and was considering going back to the standard bore to make it a more streetable here in Florida. I ride this bike pretty much daily and was wondering if this would be a good reliable setup for a daily rider that may see an occasional trip down the track?

Oil cooler?

Makes a difference on open road but won't help much in stop & go type driving.... Unless of course some 12Vdc fans as well....

Good price @ under $200 for everything included minus the engine mounts...

Here's the numbers I measured pre & post cooler and synthetic oil....

As can be reviewed, a significant change to oil & engine temps in our type of heat indexes... ;)

Dave, I've actually decided to go cooler-less on the 810. I live in a place where the temp rarely goes above 70. Plus Lorcan says his temps are fine on the turbo sans oil cooler. I'm gonna try it out, I think I know where I can get a decent laser thermometer to test with. My main reason to scrap it is that I dont think it'll fit with my exhaust. But I might still try it.

All year, hardly. those are the nice days in the summer, average temps year round are around 50-65. Usually hovers in the 30s in winter.

1105s in stock 1000 sleeves are very thin. We don't like to do them.

When you get the motor down, check the pistons and see if they are still good. That would have a large bearing on what the nest step would be.

You could send them to us to check out for you.

If they are good, consider having the block machined for larger sleeves, such as GPZ1100 / GS Suzuki, etc. with the spigots machined down to fit in your cases.

You would then have plenty of wall thickness, and fresh round bores.

That sounds like a plan. Right now I'm trying to weigh my options and figure out what I'm going to need to do.
