this seems to be a common problem. i recently was switching out a frankensteined ker ker for a vance and hines 4-1 drag and when i put on the V&H; the brake lever was sitting perfectly on the header. any suggestions?

If you are speaking of a sidewinder-style V&H pipe, then you have to alter both your rear brake pedal and the right foot peg. There are a number of people on this forum who have made this alteration...someone will chime in.

Can you post a picture of the bike with the header on it? I agree with Mcdroid...it sounds like a sidewinder if the brake pedal is hitting it or unless the brake pedal isn't installed right. Picture would tell a lot.

If the pipe looks like this, watch out for right turns.

You could cut your brake lever in half and use a horse shoe to go around the bottom of the pipe.

This is a street version of a V&H header. Clearance is not a problem with the street or the brake pedal. Which one do you have? This one is a bolt on and the brake pedal works like it should while the above example requires some work to the pedal for it to work...along with a little work to turn right!
