you go to Bikebandit and search 84 gpz1100 and they show no listing for that year...
I am finding that at a lot of sites...
plenty of listings for 82-83 gpz1100 but no 84
was this a limited year or something?

83 is a revised motor. Larger wrist pins, new head and trans modifications.
83 - 85 motors should be the same but gasket kits are different part numbers for the 84 motor. See below.
82 is pretty much just an 1100cc J with hotter cams and DFI.
81 had injector port locations in the head casting and analog fuel injection setup.

Regarding gaskets, there are 2 listings for gaskets sets for the motors. APE lists 81-83 as one set and the 84 as another set. 84 set costs a bunch more. I'm not sure what's different between the two sets.
