I just found this forum, What a great site. I just bought a KZ 750 Twin for almost nothing but the guy did not know what year it was.The engine # is KZ750BE065013 .I want to know what year it is to get some parts and get this thing in a frame and and going again. I am also having no luck finding a shift shaft seal which is leaking. Will a seal for a kz750 4cyl work? Any help will be great.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say it's probably a 1982 KZ750M1 motor.

If it has what looks like two hose spigots on top the cam cover, then that narrows it down to 82-84, and basing the engine number on a production of 11k-12k a year narrows it down to a 82.

Also, 83-84 were belt drives, and surely you would have noticed and mentioned a belt drive sprocket :)

And there were no 81 750 twin models produced.

82 was the first year for electronic ignition also.

Pic would help.

I will get a pic up, It does have the spigots on top of cam cover. It also does have a belt drive sprocket, and electronic ignition. Sounds like a 82-84. Thanks for the help.

Belt drive means it's an 83 if it's a US model, or 83-84 if Canadian model. 1983 KZ750K1 parts will fit regardless.

Yep Steell is right, KZ750 Twin K1 1983 Belt Drive only year and 1984 Canada K2. I'm having a bitch of a time finding the belt cover. Was told the 1982 will work if I cut out the inside ribs so I ordered one off eBay. I hope he's right.

There is a complete 1983 KZ750K1 without a title for sale near here. If enough people needed parts I'd give serious thought to buying it and parting it out.
