Yes however, you may want to "beef up" the engine some before putting in a high boost turbo setup.

The J engines are already pretty sturdy,but most of them are close to 30 years old now and may or may not have been treated kindly.If u r going to push a lot of boost thru them,do as technine suggests and spend some money on a welded crank,backcut the tranny gears,have Larry C.rework the head and install some better headbolts.dont want something blowing up and setting fire to ur nads.lol.bj

i think the engines going to get a shock 1500 big bore kit falicon rods welded crank vortex 2 head and a turbo kit a recipy for lots of fun but rather dangorous!

If youre doing all that, you may want to consider some frame work as well..
...1980 LTD 1000...
