1980 1000 motor swap

I have a 80 1000 motor shafty that I want to put in a newer shafty frame. Will it mount in all the 1000 shaft motor frames?

1979 KZ1000E1 = 1980 KZ1000E2. Newer shaft bikes are J motored and are not directly equivalent...although anything is possible with engineering, but it is not a direct drop-in.
