I'm re-assembling my '73 Z1 motor, and have been using a "Classic Mechnanics" rebuild article, as a guide, along with the Kawa service manual. In the article, it mentions a thrust washer being used on both sides of the starter idler gear. However, this is not shown in Kawasaki's parts list, nor is it mentioned/shown in the service manual. I also do not have this part amongst my parts for re-assembly. Are thrust washers used here, and if so, does anyone out there have a part number? Thanks in advance!

Just follow the KAW service manual, and you'll be fine.

If you have the actual model info, i can get a diagram and check.
