Z1R Turbo setup?

so far I'm guessing at:
1. 8.5:1 pistons (1075cc) from APE racing, along with their wrist pins.
2. a turbo from Garrett
3. Fuel injection setup instead of a carb. RB racing apparently can fuel inject anything, or I could try megasquirt I guess.
4. weld the crank
5. Reinforce the steering head & swing arm.
I'm not looking to stuff 200 ponies through the motor. Stock is about 86bhp, I figure 120-130 or so isn't asking too much.
Like I said, any info on the original is greatly apreciated.

fuel injection will make for a VERY streetable machine.
a small turbine, fuel injected, low-compression engine would make for a FUN project.
no reason to rule out mega-squirt for that side. you can build a custom manifold with a single t/b. integrate the injectors with that setup, hang the turbo out front. hell, you could even intercool a setup like this.

It was definitely a Rajay, probably an F40. The F40 will go to around 250hp with the boost turned up but the Z1RTCs made about 150 as they came, which was a lot at the time. Rajays are old hat nowadays though.

draw-thru turbo SYSTEMS are old hat too. they work, no doubt about it, but they can be improved. really improved.

Originally the stock turbo for my DSM.
60K miles, always had the oil changed, no shaft play.
