I ride a "B", but I have never heard of a "K". What year is it?

I can't say for sure as I've never had to replace a newer head with an older one yet.
I'm going to say I can't foresee any problems at all. You might need the cam cover as well as the top mounting brackets from the other frame, as there is a difference in the bolt spacing on the cam covers where they bolt to the brackets.
I'll take a couple pics tomorrow with my crap camera to show you what I mean.
I'm pretty sure it's only the outside shape of the cam cover that is actually different. So you may even get away with using your cam cover on the older head. If I had one of my other older motors with the cover off I'd try my 83 cover on it for ya.
The only part I've found so far that isn't interchangeable on these motors is the newer permanent magnet rotor onto the 77 motor and probably the 76 as well, due to a different tapper on the crank end.
