hi
a friends kz650 runs fine starts good .
but for at least 10 min on choke before the two right pipes start to get hot at all.then thay do .
carbs have been cleaned.bike sat for 7 yrs.
take off with choke part way on.then it gets hot and runs ok.
any posts on this one.any help please

You shouldn't need the choke on for 10 minutes. try turning it all the way off after about 3 minutes or so and see if problem persists. Could be those 2 cylinders are running way too rich with choke on and simply not heating up much. Ed

Make sure the teenie tiny air bleed holes in the carbs are all clear. I also have a 1980 KZ650 and they came from factory with 97.5 or smaller jets so they are lean to begin with. Let us know....:)

And no, 10 minutes of choke is not ideal.... Something not right in your carb operations....
