build it, break it, build it better.
ignition cover question was created by inkblot
I have recently aquired a 1980 KZ 650E LTD that needs lots and lots of love. My first of probably many questions is what ignition covers will fit the KZ 650? Is there a reference to what will interchange somewhere? The lower bolt hole was broke off of mine and the top is cracked. This seemed a little too much for the JB welder. haha. Thanks!
build it, break it, build it better.

I believe if you go to
www.kawasaki.com
and do some digging, it should show a listing on compatable models that share this cover.
Four websites come to mind concerning parts:
1. www.redlinecycle.com
2. www.reproductiondecals.com
3. www.sudco.com
4. www.johnnysvintagemotorcycle.com

I don't think you'll find that "fit" is an issue with any of them, but you will find that there are several different patterns. Some have all upper case KAWASAKI, some upper & lower, some have ribbing, etc. You may want to look at the alternator cover on the other side of engine and find an ignition cover with the same pattern. Here are some examples:

Thanks! Just need one, looks aren't important. She's gonna wind up pretty well bobbed.

Also, KZ750-4 engine covers might work. The 650-CSRs & 750Ltd-4s have the same ones.
