Any suggestions as to a good sealant (or do I even need it) for the valve cover gasket on this bike? When I took the old one off (factory installed) it didn't seem to have any sealant. Most of my experience is with cars and it's pretty much never used in that application (albeit a different kind of gasket). The majority of cars don't use a sealant for the valve cover(s).
Also looking for mounting recommendations for Dyna-S coils. I'm half tempted to grind off the stock mounting plates and go straight to the frame. One of the old coils was rubbed to the core in the stock position.
Thanks in advance.

Can't really help you on the Dyna coils...I just attached them to the existing frame mounts. On the valve cover, no sealant is generally necessary, although you might consider sealant around the cam plugs, particularly on the curved side contacting the head.

I run a thin bead of the Ultra Black Hi Temp stuff across the rubber cam plugs because they sometimes leak there.
