1 Loosen the mid-cable adjuster and get MAX free play at lever
2 At lever, get about 1/4 inch of threads showing
3 Theres a cover over the clutch adj screw, held on by 2 bolts. Remove these and the cover. You see the clutch adj screw in there. Loosen the locknut on it and back the screw OUT 3-4 turns.
4 Screw the adj screw in til it gets hard to turn. You'll know when. From there....back it OUT 1/2 turn, tigten locknut, and replace the cover
5 Go back to mid-cable adj and remove ALL free play
6 At the lever....adjust til you got 2-3 mm of free play.
Thats it for a 1000....I'd think its similar for 750, but cant swear to it. Lots of 750 guys here tho....
they'll chime in if need be. Good luck.

Tried adjusting but something went wrong:blush: after what I thought was adjusting it correctly,I tried pulling in the clutch lever & it was hard as a rock! I guess I screwed in the nut to much:whistle: So I reversed the procedure, and I'm back where I started from. The lever has to be almost and the end for the clutch to be engaged. Is it possible the clutch is bad? Or maybe (probably so) I didn't adjust it correctly??:blush:WOW!!!! After all this time depending upon the knowledge of others.....I, myself...lil 'ol me....has FINALLY been able to pass along info thats actually USEFUL!
