zn700 rebuild kit was created by 1tirefire
Hello, this is my first post here, and it seems like we've got some pretty knowledgeable poeple here.
So, I just bought a 1984 ltd700. Sweet bike! The bike looks like new! There is a small problem though.
No compression:(
I've been looking around for top end rebuild kits for a while and can't find anything. I also want to replace the pistons and rings(obviously). So, is there anywhere trusted by you guys to get the rebuild kit? Also, I know the 700 was only made for 2 years, and hard to find parts for. Would it be possible for me to punch it out to 750 and then use a 750 rebuild kit? Any info is much appreciated. Thanks!

You could order up the 84 GPz750 Piston/Rings/Wrist Pins/Circlips and Bore the Block. You would just have to confirm Sleeve/Material thickness for overboring. Below are the Active Kawasaki Part #'s and current Retail Prices.
13001-1343 Std Piston MSRP: $67.11ea. X 4
13008-5046 Std Rings MSRP: $41.18ea. X 4
13002-1001 Wrist Pin MSRP: $3.94ea. X 4
92036-005 Circlip MSRP: $2.78ea. X 8
Or you could order up:
Wiseco's K810 MSRP: $664.05
With the Wiseco kit you may have to consider Re-Sleeving your Block, or finding a 750 Block to bore. Being that it's a ZN700 you may need to find out, if having to convert, that you might need the Top Case Clearanced as well.
The 750 people will confirm/deny the above paragraph.

Hello, Rodney, and WELCOME to KZR!
We're glad you're here!
If not already done, would check valve clearances.
Good Fortune!
