1978 KZ1000 Transmission for 1979 KZ1000 MK2

Will a transmission from a 78 KZ1000 fit in a 79 KZ1000 MK2 chain drive?

I don't have access to a parts manual as yet hence the question.

Can anyone point me to a parts cross reference on the web?

www.kawasaki.com .. Hover Mouse over OWNER INFO.. Than scroll down to PARTS DIAGRAMS and click.. Leave Motorcycle in SEARCH BY MODEL box and Click.. Select YEAR 1978/Select 1020cc's/Select Standard Street Bikes Product/Select KZ1000 Marketing Names.. Click Continue.. Click Here to Choose.. Choose First Choice, or whatever makes you happy..
