I recently put a KZ650 kickstarter into my KZ750 cases. The process was smooth, but since I have developed a problem.
I can kickstart the bike without a issue, but the with the bike running, the kickstarter lever will not stay vertical. It will fall back and I can hear the teeth on the ratchet clattering. I pulled the clutch cover and took a look. Everything is still in place. I tried to wind the spring around the kickstarter shaft another loop, but it seems too tight and pops right out. That doesn't seem to be the right way.
I am stumped.
Any help would be appreciated.
