Hi Kris - they´re doing alright, starts right up most of the time though I still get the occasional oogah squeal Most likely the starter clutch gear acting up, the surface where it contacts the rollers wears out of round and develops flat spots over time, hence the occasional miss.

you were right it came loose removed it cleaned all and tightened it up all is good now thanks again and im gonna update my name going for streetfighterkid hopeits avail

I had a similar problem,and it was the key that had snapped...starter WAS turning over,but it was only spinning the rotor on the crank...
I'm pretty sure that the "J" motor has a key,as well as a tapered fit?...

did a search ended up with some dead links to archives,
can someone enlighten me to how the starter engages when its superposed too so i can look into the cause,
rough sketch or details would be great.

im going to try to check all the wiring once ive warmed up a bit.
but it dosnt do it all the time mostly it fires right up, then for no reason back comes the wining turn over...
anyone had this happen to them?
