kz750 ltd H2 1981 new build in the UK! was created by angel_uk
hi guys and gals

my name is angie and i'm a biker from the uk.
since may 2009 my dad and i've been restoring back to bare frame a kz750 ltd h2. we've imported from the US a newer engine with only 6,600 miles on the clock!

q) please can you advise me of whether i need the reed valves, air valve system on my bike or can i modify this to remove it?

q2) is this clean air system for the US emmissions? or is for the air input supply to the bike please?

q3) what is recommended by other kz riders on the above please?

NB on contacting www.kawasaki.com they we not helpful at all. i was advised to buy a new bike. too easy that one!

many thanks gang for helping me with my project bike!..

cheers US buddies!

It is only for emissions, you can buy some block off plates from APE, or just run a hose from 1 valve cover to the other. Also you can hook it up so it works, this will make the exhaust gasses cleaner and will not effect performance.

You may find the UK model 750 engine has a valve cover without smog ports that bolts right onto the US engine. That's the case with UK /CDN versions of the 1000's that did not have the US EPA mandated emissions controls. Sold lots of Canuck versions of KZ/J/GPZ covers without the smog ports to US owners who didn't care for the looks of block off plates.

hi motor head!

thanks for your reply!..

what a great bike you've lovely!

when i phoned up www.kawasaki.com they said to me 'why would mr kawasaki design an air valve system' and then not use it on the bike? your bike will run better with it!' on the kawasaki technicians advised

i'm still confused about whether to install the air valve or not?

many thanks for your reply motor!

kind regards

angie
