Is there a way to increase the flow of the KZ 900/1000 oil pumps ?.

Something similar to fitting 750 gears to the 1000/1100 as is common on the suzuki GS's.

I know EGLI used to sell high capacity pumps for their deep sumps but is there a mod to improve the std pump or a supplier of a high performance version ?.

I've seen several KZ feature bikes just recently that list high flow or double speed oil pumps in their spec sheet but in all my years of KZ building i have never heard of such a mod on these and i'm sure APE and other performance suppliers would sell them if they did exist.

you can tighten the clearances between the gears and housing lid

dont know if there are any mods, but remember if you increase flow you need to increase pan size so you dont run out of oil

Don't know if a 900 is set up anything like my 650 but here is a simple mod for my bike that works. :)

Was hoping for a simple retro fit from a later GPZ but all the manuals give the same flow and pressure at 2.8 psi @3000 rpm.

Have just found this racing pump at this Jap site but it's 55000 yen ?

You will not be able to get more than the 3PSI because you are pumping into roller bearings that create a complete pressure loss. The only way you would be able to get higher pressures is if you had split bearings like the 650/750 has. What ever pump you put in, you will only be able to increase volume but not pressure.

Higher flow is determined by impeller Diameter or length or speed. Pressure is determined by impeller tightness and or precision. The impeller size is inversely proportional to pressure and directly proportional to volume. You can have extremely high flow pumps that deliver very low pressure same as you can have extremely high pressure with very low volume. "FACT"
