About to start rebuilding the basket on my 1000ST. First clutch rebuild, got plates and springs, any important tips I need to know?

clean,clean,clean did i mention clean? :laugh:
check the steel plates to make sure theyre flat,then toss them in glass beading cabinet to rough them up(helps oil stick)
measure your stock springs,if theyre still good use them .no need to install those stiff ass aftermarket springs if you dont need to.
your shaft drive bike should come stock with the extra clutch discs compared to chain drive already,make sure you got the right parts B)

Still recovering,some days are better than others.

Easy job. Follow the manual and you'll be fine. Make sure you put all the steel plates in the same way, meaning they are stamped out when they are made so they have a side with a rounded edge and a side with a sharp edge. Make sure all the rounded or sharp edges are facing the same way. I like to soak my fiber plates in oil but some do it dry.

The most important thing is to use a torque wrench on the pressure plate bolts. Too tight on them and you'll snap off the boss.....not good.
