turbo 900/1000 questions

What sort of engine mods are guys with 1000 turbo's doing. I have a kl250 which is basically 1/4 of a kz1000, uses the same rod & piston. I plan on either supercharging or turboing it, and it will be stock displacement. do guys with the 1000's do lots of extravagent mods or leave the bottom end alone? How much power can 1000/900's make on stock bottom ends before the come apart. So far I have figured I will weld the crank, install an oil cooler, o ring the head and block, beef up the clutch, and probably run E85 to keep the detonation down.

welded crank,trap door in oil pan blue-print oil pump.low compression pistons,good cylinder studs and nuts,short duration cams,oil supply and return line for turbo,head doesnt need serious porting for street motor...... parts are awfully pricey your gonna have to do all your own trial and error ive never seen anything that small with a turbo or blower.900-1000 bottem ends are pretty stout it just depends on how carried away you want to get ,im not sure how strong that 250 bottem end is compared to it though.you might want to see if you can graft a nitrous system on there,it would be a lot cheaper and easier to install. goodluck,happy wrenching!

Mitsubishi makes a turbo small enough, i have one that i think will work, if not i'm going to make a centifugal supercharger out of a larger turbo. it's a 8.9:1 so i'm not too worried about low compression pistons and the cam is pretty mild. i'm gonna put some stuff together soon to see if it will spool the turbo i have, and we'll see from there i guess.

hehe......It's magorly Ghetto-rigged, but it makes boost. didn't have an oil feed hooked up yet so I didn't try to ride it. It made two pounds of boost just revving it up without a load.
