blasting/painting Z400 was created by Brown Bear
i am snadblast my KZ400 engine as it looks it such bad shape, what is teh best way to go about respraing it? other than high temp paints, i dont want to use a brush at all. and would i need to be primed aswell?
oh where can a get a full gasket set from also not too expensive? iv been told other models will fit myne as it is the 4 cyl

I'd be careful blasting with actual sand, it is likely to mar the aluminum. I have had good luck blasting with baking soda, it cleans really well. Regarding the gasket set I always get almost everything from

Thanks! I don't know how I missed ever seeing one considering I've been riding bikes since 1965. Maybe I saw them back then and my memory has gotten dull, or maybe I saw them back then and my memory has gotten dull, or maybe I saw.............

It is basically the same bike as the KZ500/KZ550 series. The motor just has a smaller displacement, but the castings are virtually the same. The actual bike is the same size as the KZ550's.
They are rare and cool, but are slower than a run-of-the-mill 550, so not very desirable since you can make a 550 look just like them with some paint and badges.
There are a few minor detail differences:
Cam timing, transmission gearing, carbs are almost identical but are 1mm smaller diameter, small differences in brake disk diameters.

using playsand from B&Q. lol. its working totaly fine. have had to soakd the parks in an engine degreaser etc. they was bad...... but hope in time i will get there. if i cant get all the paint off the im not overly bothered really. i will be respraying them anyway. lol. just want it to look good..
