I think I may have a problem. I was down by the motor adjusting the idle when I noticed some rust so I got my knife and started scraping when the knife went through the side :ohmy: then I started noticing more like it and sure enough same thing. Now here's the funny thing when I touched it the "metal" turned to dirt. It looks like the PO painted the engine and painted over the dirt and it's just now broke loose. Any help would be appreciated. The pic attached is crappy because it was taken with a phone but I touched it up as good as I could

nah the blocks got passages in between the outer and center jugs....imo

Yeah, besides, it is HIGHLY unlikely the aluminum will have rusted through ;) More than likely a very poor prep prior to paint. The bike might have been a fire sale special with "carb problems" in its past B)

lol I didn't know they were aluminum. Makes sense I guess. This is a big load off my chest thanks guys. :):cheer:

A long as compression is good and oil is not flowing through the holes, It's a minor thing.
