Hello 'Riders,

I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I've searched this forum several times but now I'm finally posting my problem. I Seafoamed my 750 N2 that's been sitting around for a couple of years and as soon as it sucked up into the vacuum tube, it immediately came pouring out of the hole in the bottom of the right pipe. What say you, oh wise oracle of all things KZ? Stuck valve? Worn gasket?

Hello, Ian, and WELCOME to KZr! We're glad you're here! :cheer:

If SeaFoam was sucked into a carb vacuum nipple, it was probably just pumped through the combustion chamber and into the exhaust system, where it's leaking out a drain hole.

SeaFoam is usually added to the gasoline inside the fuel tank to help clean the carbs as fuel is burned while riding. Maybe it could be sprayed into the air intake side of the carbs while the engine is running, as a more concentrated application.

In any event, the SeaFoam is supposed to pass through the carb fuel passages. But going into the carb vacuum nipple passes directly into the intake port without going through any carb fuel passages. Probably doesn't hurt anything, other than perhaps foul a spark plug, but I don't suspect any beneficial results.

Good Fortune! :)

I have done the cleaning procedure where the liquid Seafoam gets sucked directly into the intake manifolds while the engine is running (which stalls the engine) and then you let it sit five minutes and restart it. It never occurred to me that some liquid could be kicked out into the exhaust but it probably could as the engine dies and goes through it's last couple of revolutions. I don't think that would hurt anything, might actually release some carbon and let it get blown out.

Thanks for replying and it's great to officially be here. I 'foamed it again without any problems this time. Three cheers for Seafoam!

I'm sure the warning is on the bottle, but make sure the feed rate of liquid into a running motor is slow enough not to Hydro-lock it, bent rods, broken pistons, =big problem.
