I just picked up my first kz. It's an 81 KZ1000 LTD. Has an extra whole in the bottom of the left side of the case. The previous owner said the throttle got stuck and that was when it sent the rod through the bottom. Sad thing is the bike only had 10k miles on it. How much would a new bottom end cost me? I think a J motor will fit this bike. Would it be cheaper to buy a complete running motor? Not afraid to tackle a rebuild and im hoping my top end is still good. Im also looking at a cbr1000 motor I can pick up cheap $600 with all computer and wiring but that would probably ruin the class of the bike. Suggestions welcome
Tear it apart and post pictures so the damage can be assessed.

Im planning on building a streetfighter / crusier mainly just for looks that my wife and I can ride along the beach in Florida.. Im thinking deep black with lots of crome and aluminum. What's a good rear for the gsxr swingarm swap? I want to go 2"+ longer with a wider tire 190-200 if possible. I would stay with kawi parts but is seems the gsxr stuff fits better. Whats the easiest front setup to bolt on?
