4-2 Turnout exhaust was created by sramsey216
No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI'm currently running a 4-1 Star Cycles exhaust. I really like the performance and sound but since my bike is lowered, my right hand lean angle is somewhat limited. I would like to replace the exhaust for one that tucks a little tighter to the frame. Has anyone had any experience with these? Performance, sound, or quality?

Thanks,
-Scott

Hey, take a look at the thread question/pic I just posted... kzrider.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&...w&catid=13&id=374320

I just bought that bike about a week ago, it looks like it has the same exhaust you're talking about. I certainly can't complain about the pipes- I believe the carbs were jetted too rich, the plugs foul too quickly. Other than that issue, which has little to do with the exhaust itself, and the fact that the bike looks a little Harley-esque, I'm a fan! A few people have said the exhaust is louder than most 4-into-1s, but I cannot say.

An issue you will have is if you have a centre stand. The 4 into 2 systems push it down a little bit. This causes the stand to scrape on harder left hand turns.

I have similar pipes on my M2. I've not noticed any problems with interference with the center stand. No problems blocking the oil filter either.

I think they have a good sound. Maybe slightly louder than stock.

I have a set of Jardine 4 into 2 pipes but they are not turnouts. Cylinders 1 and 4 are paired and 2 and 3 are paired for better scavenging. Clearence is excellent easy access to the filter and retains the center stand without dragging it. These are on my 650 but they made the same pipe for the 900/1000

When I first got my kz900 A4, it had jardine 4 into 2s. There wasn't much muffle left in the mufflers so I got some MAC 4 into 2 slip-on flare tips. I had some scraping of the centre stand with the Jardines, but it was worse with the MACs. Now maybe my springs are a little week allowing too much squat on hard cornering. I've ordered new Hagon shocks, should have them on next week some time, then we'll see.

Not to hi-jack your thread, but quick question. Why do people go from the stock 4 into 2 for a 4 into 1? Is it about the torque output at lower RPMS?
