Wouldn't that be the same as putting a J motor in an earlier frame? I'm pretty sure I have read of several of those being done.

There's a mess of stuff in the dragbike.com forums on putting 'J' engine which has three mounting points into drag fram made for the KZ engine which has four. IIRC it was something like moving one mount and removing one mount but it's been a while...
If you don't have your 1100 yet, I can take some pix of a 'J' case on Sunday and post.

It is very do-able...there was one on eBay 2-3 months ago (didn't sell). Someone had shoe-horned a 1100 B2 motor into a 1977-80 KZ1000 B model (LTD) frame.

Weather wasn't as bad as predicted so I came up to the shop today.
Just took some photos of my kz1100b2 and kz1000a1 motor mounts.
Sorry, no way to measure precisely but there is a tape scale in there
for rough reading.
IIRC 1000 and 900 mounts are the same
The 1100 doesn't have that mount on the lower frame tubes.
In the photos the 1100 is black, has no block, and points cover is missing.
1000 has a good bit of chrome and cover is off front drive sprocket.
Any thumbnail will take you to a page where you can select different images and resolutions.
'original' is as good as these images get.

It looks like it should fit very nicely, with the removel of the mount on the lower tubes and add one on the tubes on front of the frame. Do you see any real trouble that i might have looking at both bikes?

Well you never know until you try...I'd go for it.
What's up with yout 900 engine?
I need some oversize pistons and rings or a cylinder liner for mine.
Shop wants more to install and bore the liner than to bore the whole block.
Plus I have to buy the liner which is about $80 with shipping.

The 900 was a drag motor and i wanted to go through it. well i found out how much everything was gonna cost and ran out of money. I have the 900 jugs but they are 1015 now, also the pistons too. I have head that i had rebuilt, with S.S. intake valves and new exhuast valves. New guides and .500 lift springs. I have over $400 dollars into the head and was looking at another $1400 to the finish the motor. Thats when i found the 1100 motor. need any parts let me know. I will be selling parts soon.
