Hey guys... We are trying to put my 82GPz750 back together and ran into a problem. The upper connecting rod bearings that came out of the engine had oil holes in them. The NEW ones from Kawasaki do not. I have ordered them twice because I thought they screwed up.
They sent me ones that don't have the holes again. They said the part numbers match up.
Any Idea's? They have to have the oil hole in them don't they?
The service manual say they do.

Thanks:)

I would want the hole if there is an oil port or channel behind the bearing. If not, it's tits on a boar hog.

Yes there is a oil port. It's a hole drilled in the connecting rod. It's strange that Kawi would say that the bearings with no hole are correct. Is it possible they cross referenced the part number with a different 750? If so wich one?

If you still have the old bearings you can measure the diameter of the hole and drill an identical hole through the new bearings. Be sure and chamfer the edges of the new holes.

thats a bushing not a bearing.go ahead and drill a hole in it,id install it in the rod first and use hole in rod for a guide.drill slow and remember to clean up any burrs before installing wrist pins. ;) goodluck, happy wrenching!

Well I'm a dummy, I thought he was talking about the upper bearing shell on the big end:blush:
If wrist pin had been mentioned I would have known :)

You are correct it's a bushing. My bad. So I should be able to use the old bushing as a templet for the hole?
Thanks for your help.
