Anybody have any pictures of an engine with black cases and cylinders, polished covers, and a natural finish head? I'm thinking I might paint everything besides my head and covers, shame to paint the head given how good it looks.

Might be a long shot to get pics of exactly that, but any input is appreciated.

love to help but dam it i pretty much paint everything black. i might have to rethink that abit tho because i just picked up an engine that most of the covers are chrome.

I may do this, I'm gonna paint my breather and cam cover too, but it seems like it looks pretty decent. Plus taping up that head is gonna be a royal PITA.

Without a doubt. You have it all apart anyway, no sense putting the head on and then paint. That's how I painted mine. Head was off so I painted them separately.

Oh I'm painting everything separately. Still a pain to tape everything. I taped up my cylinders and crankcase today, oh what fun! But it does mean I can spray them as soon as I get a chance! Engine assembly here I come!

Edit: Just got what you guys meant. I'm not painting in frame, jeez that'd be nuts.

no i meant if you paint the motor while the head is still off you shouldnt have to do anything to the head B)
