HOW MUCH OIL FOR KZ550?

I can't seem to locate in my manual how much oil is required for my 81 kz550. on the side of the tank it says 3 liters, but is that without or with changing the filter. If I change the oil filter is it more like 3.4 liters?

With the filter change, I use more than 3, but not 4 quarts (liters are a little more than a quart, and Canadian quarts are different? Or was it Canadian gallons?).

JUst keep an eye on the sight window and check again right after running. You'll probably have to add a little more afer the initial startup.

Oh, and the sight window is only a valid level when the bike is turned off, and upright. When the oil is new, sometimes it's hard to tell where the level is. If you tilt the bike one way or the other you should see the oil level change. Make sure you have a good grip on the bike.
