Reconsidering revving problem-thoughts on this?

I am chasing a similar problem with my sons 1980 KZ1000 A4. when it's warmed up and you come to a stop the idle hangs around 3,000 rpm, then if I let the clutch out and put a load on it the rpm drops to normal and idles steady.

Mine misses or spits back through the exhaust and sometimes the intake. Is your doing this also?

Here is a video of mine, you can see the idle hang but not bad because it is not fully wamred up in this video:

No, I hadn't considered the throttle shaft bushings. They seemed tight, but I suppose it could be the problem. Turtle, yes, sometimes it will come down if I give it a load, or if I shut it off, then right back on again while it's still turning, but not always.

It only rarely spits back, which seems to me more like a misfire, but it's rare.

I have read somewhere that enrichening the pilot screws might help this but I haven't tried that yet. Opinions on that?
