Air Suction Valves was created by BIGD
I have a U.S. model 1981 KZ1000M1 it is the only part of the world that has this system on the motorcycle, every other country that this bike was shipped to does not. I am hoping someone can tell me what was there for the rest of the bikes. I had a Canadian model many years ago and can not remember. It most likely did not have the air suction valves in the cylinder head cover, and was wondering if the left and right air suction covers had the opening on each that connected the hose to the air suction valve or was there just a flat cover on the cylinder head cover with no connection. And if the air suction valve covers still did have the connection but not the air suction system where did the hoses connect to from the top of the air suction covers. If a picture from my manual is needed please ask. My manual only shows the U.S. model and not the others without this system. Thanks Don

In the other countries, the head still had the ports, but the valve cover was plain. However, if I recall, the non-U.S. valve cover had little round tabs that stuck out a little bit at the gasket surface just enough to cover the ports in the head.
