Identify these cams! was created by beefsquasher
I got a set of cams a while back for a good price. Just wondering, what did I get, and how should I set them up?

I was told that they are "Kenny Harmon" cams, whatever that means.

The ends say: K/H L1

All lobes measure about .400" give or take about .005".

Lobe centers to set these up to? Are they any good?

Kenny Harmon L1 grind. They are .398 lift and about 260* duration. They are virtually identical to the Web-Cam #110 grind. I also have a set that is like new. Are yours hard-welded onto a set of stock cams or are they a new grind. The new grinds were street cams and the Hard-Weld were race intended because of their durability.

How can I tell if they are cast as is or hardwelded to stockers?

Lobe centers for these babies? Web Cam recommends LC of 106 for Intake and 108 for exhaust on their 110 grind.

Wow! Showing age again. K H cams were one of the 1st aftermarket cams out there. K H was out of California.

These were bolt in cams. Used HD springs. Stock buckets worked. I had a set along with the hard welded ones.
I thought someone made them homemade! There was a little chip in one of the lobes.
I had these in a street bike, back when they made 966cc pistons for the 900cc 1/2 mm oversize.

Ask a Guy named Tod Compton, he raced a Pretty Z1 in the 80's.
I sold him Both sets, KH machined and The KH hard welds at an IDBA drag race at Norwalk Ohio in 1989 for $80!

Oh ya' sold a set of 29mm smooth bores for $75 that weekend too!

Thanks for the brain update!

Livin in "CheektaVegas, NY
Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.
I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.

I guaranty you that .398 lift was not drop in for anything until the GPz1100 head came out. .398 would not even drop into a stock "J" head. The duration should be at .040 and lobe centers should be at 108* You can tell a hard weld two ways. 1) is if you look at the center of the cam where the sprocket goes and there is a "L" and a "R" on each side of the sprocket boss. 2) you can look at the side of each lobe and you can see that there was metal added and then ground smooth.
