hello people, im now looking for a replacement gearbox for my kz1000(1980) ive found one of a 1980 z750 does anybody know if there the same, cheers mat

I have not tried to put a 750 trans in a 1000, but I seriously doubt that it would work.

Also, in 1980, there were differences between the transmissions/clutches in the KZ1000 models. Which model are you talking about? Can't say for sure on the KZ750 transmission. Someone else asked what was wrong with your transmission... perhaps there is some other solution if we know more particulars.

hello, my gearbox has a slipping third gear, i was only considering getting the replacement gearbox as its so cheap, im hoping that the problem is just a bent sector fork or something simple- i cant see any obious wear on main and layshaft pinions, anyway more tech info always appreciated - cheers mat
