oil check how to

Im new thes65e kz ....just bought a 1979 kz 650...trying to find out how to check engine oil level.. cannot find the dipstick/////does anyone knows...

do you have a manual it is a must when workin on these bike and they have alot of useful tip and info in them.

on my KZ550 it doesnt have a dipstick it has a sisht glass on the crank case towards the bottom. might check to see if urs has the site glass and go from there.

but definatley look on ebay or somewhere to try and find u a manual i think the consesus on these are the fatory manual or clymer there is another but i can remeber the name right now.

Clymer is a (in my opinion) a so-so manual,Haynes is another manual publisher, but I like the factory manuals.

Welcome to the site, you'll love the 650. The sight glass is on the clutch cover [the big round cover on right side] on the middle front lower area. It's a small round glass cover, stand the bike up or put on center stand and look through the glass. There's a upper and lower line in the outer cover.

Quick add to Mark's post.. check level in window w/engine dead, & after sitting (after running) for a couple minutes as it takes a little while for oil to drain from top end. G
