I know the stock cams on this bike are perhaps the smallest of the "J" series engines. Would cams from a "j" series police bike be of any improvement? there are a few sets on the bay right now at a reasonable price,Thanks..:)

gpz cams would be your best bet the police cams aren't very good hotrod cams.

Guess I'll keep looking then, trying to do a low budget thing. I've got a set of stock 1100 pistons - 1089cc, and figured a little bigger cams and she'd run pretty nice..

I got J cams for free this fall, and I can say they are a serious improvement over the LTD cams, BUDA will say the same thing, he was my inspiration for getting them actually.

Yes I will say the same thing. You can find them on ebay most of the time for a reasonable price.
